My specialties as a therapist are Trauma & PTSD or ADHD in children and adults. I work via TeleHealth in the Mesa and Gilbert areas of Arizona. I have experience in many other areas of counseling including pre-marital, marriage, parenting, and more.
 

My approach to therapy is "Brief Solution Focused Therapy."  Usually this involves using coping skills with an emphasis on deep breathing, mindfulness and meditation. I use trauma informed approaches (eg EMDR or ImTT) for trauma and PTSD. I work with people of all faiths, sexual orientations and ethnic backgrounds. I believe human beings are made up of body, soul and spirit; and that you must attend to all three to have good mental health.

 

I have been married for over 46 years to my high school sweetheart. We have raised 3 boys that are all happily married, and we now have 7 grandchildren.

• Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, Western Seminary, Portland OR

• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.  

• Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors. 

• ADHD-CCSP National Certification- Professional Training adults & children.

• Worked with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) clients in Eugene, OR, at Lane County Mental Health as well as SMI clients and children at Jewish Family and Children's Services in Mesa, AZ.

• Experienced in Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy and Trauma informed approaches to therapy.

• EMDRIA approved training in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR Trauma Therapy).

• Trained in Image Transformation Therapy (ImTT) for Trauma.

• Certified in Prepare and Enrich (Life Innovations) for premarital/marital couple’s counseling.
