My approach to therapy is from a place of mindful listening, allowing you to vent and guiding me to the area(s) of focus, so you can finally breathe easy. I approach counseling from the belief that people need to feel safe, heard, and understood as the initial steps toward healing. Next comes knowledge, empowerment, and then encouragement to explore what you are facing.

 

My therapeutic foundation is shaped and influenced by Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, existential therapy and faith-based counseling. In my client-centered approach, I individualize each client's treatment goals by identifying appropriate and attainable therapeutic goals.

 

I work with people of all faiths, sexual orientations and ethnic backgrounds, and have successfully worked with adolescents, young adults, and couples.

 

I was a federal law enforcement officer for many years before entering the field of counseling, and have worked with people of diverse cultural, socio-economic, and disadvantaged backgrounds. I also have a degree in business (MBA).

 

I am a native Spanish speaker and can conduct sessions completely in Spanish, if necessary.
